About New Bedford's Millie's

The solid stone building was built in 1815 for the Taber brothers who built blocks and pumps for the whaling boats. As you'll see in the photos is an architect’s dream. Today the Taber building is home to the stylishly delicious restaurant, Cork, Wine & Tapas and Millie's short term rental.

Millie's upper level condo can be accessed by stairs or the private elevator. There are the most incredible panoramic views overlooking the working waterfront with distant views out to the Elizabeth Islands.

On warm weekend afternoons, you may be able to listen to some outdoor music at Cork from the condo's private deck.

With amazing water views, air conditioning, antique recycled heated flooring, and a gas fireplace, this is great escape for any season.

Neighborhoods

New Bedford is rich in history. The city is tied to many well known and historic times, including the whaling era, the textile industry, the working waterfront and the Underground Railroad. In the mid-1700s, Joseph Rotch purchased 13 acres of land along the city’s  deep harbor, establishing the whale fishery that transformed a small village into a thriving port. A century later, the boom of the textile industry swelled the population, spurred the development of vast new ethnic neighborhoods, and expanded the city’s growth to the north and south.  Once recognized as one of the most artistic cities in the country, further adding to our long history of cultural diversity and appeal.
